Higgovale Quarry

Postby woody » Sun Nov 18, 2007 9:00 pm

I was just wondering if anyone could give their input on the current situation with the Higgovale Quarry. I had a look at it the other day and I'm considering going there for climbing as it is very convenient i.e. 2 mins away. I was also just wondering what the situation with regards to crime is, have there been any issues lately? And lastly, does anyone have any info on the routes that are there, like grades and just general descriptions. Thanks, any info would be appreciated.

- Route descriptions: Higovale was listed in earlier versions of Guy Holwill's guidebooks. Not sure if it's in the current edition.
- Like all quarries it has more than its fair share of loose rock - if you must go, be careful and wear a helmet.
- Because of the above I haven't been there in years, so can't comment on safety.
(@Guy - I'll take commission in beers, thanks )
