Who stocks slacklines?
Are there diferent types?
Any tips?

What about an old dynamic rope?

Looks real easy

What you need is to set up a Slackline:
3 biners (1 for attaching the slackline to sling around the tree and 2 for the tension system),
one sling (length depends on tree diameter),
and a Xm piece of webbing (I find the 'Ederid-three strips' works best)

MMO sell slack line kits... but you could also make one with rope/tape (the tape might be a tad easier ;)

If you can get a big ratchet strap, those are good to start with and easy to tighten.

When you fall, know how to land - avoid breaking a wrist or neck (neither are conducive to climbing) and don't slap anything between your legs either

Have fun, let us know how you get on 8)

Same topic....different location.

Anyone know where I can buy a slackline in Jhb/Pta?

I heard that safety belt's (the same as in your car) works very well, and it's cheap?

I bought 10m of 25mm webbing from Builders Warehouse for R70, tied one end to a pole and the other to my bakkie. Good fun! My legs are stil wobbly trying to balance my body. It took a couple of tries but I am now managing a few steps. I can imagine it gets harder the longer the line as the amplitude will increase. Cool Bananas!

(Cant wait for slack line purists to criticize my rig!!! He he
