Rocklands in June/July

Postby catstclair » Sun May 20, 2007 8:26 am

Hey guys,

I am planning to go to Rocklands for a month or so this June/July. I'll be by myself, and was wondering how easy it tends to be to hook up with climbing partners once you're out there? I don't have my own rack or rope which I imagine might make it a bit harder...?

Also, where's the best place to stay? Any advice would be much appreciated!

Thanks,

Catx

Hello Cat

You will not have a problem finding a partner in Rocklands. The stellenbosch crew should be well represented this season, and we are always keen on assisting people in there adaption to the Rocklands lifestyle.

In the past most climbers stayed in the Kliphuis campsite but as far as I know the gates have been locked. The other option is to stay in one of the cottages or backpackers in the Allpha Farm area. I also know of a climber who is bringing a caravan to the Lands for the season... it does get rather cold in the winter.
