Fernkloof issues

Post by AFRICATRAD » Thu Mar 22, 2007 4:46 pm

For the last 3 months i have been climbing trad routes at Fernkloof and have noticed there are some concerning issues:

1. \" squaters \" living in the gorge, chopping down the indigenous trees and using them for firewood. Crapping and leaving plastic and paper all over the place.

2. On the walls at the big pool at the bottom of the gorge the grafitti has gotten worse... in only 3 months.

Can someone tell me who \" manages/ owns the kloof \" and what can be done to rectify these issues?

As far as I know the kloof is owed by the Bergheim resort. Your best bet is to report directly to them. They are pretty friendly to climbers
