The Epic that never was

We were climbing Churchill at Musemburg. My belayer was firmly anchored to the stance and I was about to lead the second pitch when a thin brown snake about half a metre long suddenly wrapped itself around my belayers harness. He managed to gently remove it with the result that it proceeded to crawl up my right trouser leg.A couple of violent shakes from me caused it to fall out never to be seen again. We did not ID the snake but clearly it was non aggressive/poisonous.In the absence of a dangerous snake or panic there was no epic but the incident did serve to prove the existence of the legendary trouser snake

I don't know about that, I don't particularly want to see another man's trouser snake

harmless or not, the brown stream issuing from my trouserleg would have removed the snake.
