How should you clean your climbing shoes?

Warm water, mild soap and a small brush (toothbrush). Make sure that you dry the shoes properly afterwards and do not put them in the sun to dry.

Only if your shoes are synthetic. If they are leather you'll destroy them!
I hate this real world place... I'd be more than happy to live out there rather...

I take mine with me into the shower and give them a good scrubbing with an old hairbrush, inside and out, with no soap (for the shoes, always use soap for yourself). Give them about a week to dry out.

Why do you say not to put them in the sun to dry? will it break down the material?

The heat can cause the soles to peel/detach.

Only a problem in SA!

Shoes can be cleaned, new one on me? I was once asked to put my shoes somehwere else after taking them off during a comp, the smell was bothering people.

Spit and a rub with the palm usually does it.
