Visiting Brits would love to climb the table.

Hello fine climbing peoples of SA,

I'm visiting your brilliant country for the first time next month, and there's no way I'm going to Cape Town and not climbing Table Mountain. Getting the cable car would make me cry. I realise that it's going to be hot, so would need an early start, and that it's a bit of a walk in, but is it feasible in the beginning of Feb?

Also, minor point, I can't bring a rack and ropes with me, so would any of you lovely people be willing to lend me some gear? I will gladly reward you handsomely with a beer or seven.

My wife is a bit of climber too, so I've talked her into it as well!

Any advice would be greatly appreciated, and I'll happily trade info about climbing in the UK and Europe.

Cheers

Jon of the Brixton Climbing Club

You certainly are, we used to have a couple in our club. Good climbers, but their main job on trips was attending to the evenings massive meat intake. We never went hungry, and I've loved a good braai ever since!
