Bird nesting info Silvermine 2011

Post by Brent » Fri Aug 12, 2011 2:31 pm

To avoid confusion, I suggest one thread per year for the whole bird nesting crag closures thing, hence the subject line above.

I have requested that Parks provide me with accurate and up-to-date info on the Silvermine nest site. I'll relay the updates here. I've reiterated to them that it is vital that the signage is correct and unambiguous, and that climbers are generally respectful of the need to temporarily close crags or parts of crags.

At the moment, Parks confirm that there are no birds nesting and that there are no signs on the top of the Silvermine crags. So it's an all clear right now. If they've inadvertently left a sign there you may disregard it until further notice.

Thanks Brent,
There are indeed 2 signs still up, where the path crosses above the main crag.

Thanks for the info, I've let Parks know and asked them to remove those signs if there are no birds actually nesting.
