Hi All

I contacted the farmer Jaap, and he asked me to let the climbers all know that he is organising an ambush with the dog squad to catch these guys. In the mean time please note that all climbing at Wellingtons is suspended until further notice. If anybody would like to help feel free to call Jaap on 072 425 0349.

Such a shame, perhaps we need to organise armed escorts when climbers would like to climb in future!! Many other outdoor sports such as bird watching and fishing share the same problem.

Hey Neil,

I've also been following up with some police contacts here in Polokwane. A bloke who could be quite instrumental in coordinating such a sting from the Mokopane/Mohlwelereng SAPS office is apparently on leave at present - I've been advised that we should wait until he's back.

Will keep you posted... Warm up the video camera :D

Hopefully the perps dont trawl climbing forums when they're not slashing ropes...
Neil, once again thanks for being proactive and taking the initiative

I'm eager to know what happened with the "sting" and how many of the bastards went down in the operation?
