Elandskrans belongs to the Emakhazeni Local Municipality. Waterval Boven, Machadodorp, Belfast, Dullstroom and all the adjacent farm areas fall under the ELM.

A chemical company called Next Chemica, formed a new devision in 1999 called Next Recources development and made a proposal to the council to lease the Elandskrans resort.

After 6 years they aparently failed to comply with the lease agreement and could not pay the rent. The ELM eventually decided to boot them out. Now there is a legal process that have to follow before anything can happen.

Hence, the resort will remain closed until the dispute is resolved.

For alternative accommodation options, call us on 013 257 0363 or call the Waterval Boven Info and reservation centre on 013 257 0444.
