Create a community climbing guide

Post by FastestHamster » Mon Apr 17, 2006 2:35 pm

Hey!

I freely admit to being an opensource fundi and linux zealot but haven't been able to contribute back to the opensource movement.

So how about a community project aimed at creating a beginner's guide to rock climbing? I'm sure many resources for climbers exist but this would be an opensource (GPL'd) guide that anyone can use without fear. Would also be nice to collate all the information into one place.

So, if you're keen to help out, head over to http://en.wikibooks.org/wiki/A_Beginner%27s_Guide_to_Rock_Climbing
and start editing!

Have fun.

Another opensource climbing project is Carl's wiki:
http://amber.ee.sun.ac.za/~carl/index.php/Main_Page.

It is a route guide for southern Africa that anyone can edit.

Feel free to browse or contribute.
