Guide Books

Postby wilf » Wed Jan 02, 2008 1:40 pm

Hi,

I'm looking to Visit from the UK in March and was hoping to climb. I've been trying to find a guide book previous recommendations was 'Cape Rock' but can't find a copy as it's out of print.

Is there any substitute that anyone can suggest?

Thanks for your help

Wilf.

you can get the 2005 edition of western cape rock (sport climbing only) at www.mountainmailorder.co.za. there's guides for other major climbing areas like watervalboven as well.

check out the wiki on this site, as well as the 'routes' section. hook up with local climbers.

GUIDE BOOKS

Hi Wilf

Plenty of good guide books are available, as far as i am aware Western Cape Rock is still available. If you want to do some traditional climbing i would recommend that you look for:

1. The Ledge - (Table Mountain) Author - L Rust
2. Peninsula Rock (Muizenberg & Elsies Peak) - T Lourens and R Behne
3. Paarl Rocks (Paarl Rock) S Noy

These are all available at most climbing shops and the City Rock Gym in Cape Town.
